Youth Protection Policies

Every registered adult completes Safeguarding Youth Training before working with scouts and renews it every two years, no scout is ever alone with just one adult under Scouting America’s two-deep leadership rule, and every adult and scout on an outing has a current medical form on file. Outdoor Ethics Awards

Scouts BSA offers two national recognitions for outdoor ethics: the Outdoor Ethics Awareness Award (Leave No Trace training and practice on outings) and the Outdoor Ethics Action Award (a step further: helping lead outdoor-ethics education for the patrol or troop). Interested? Ask at a troop meeting, or reach out through Contact. This is a good fit for a scout who already enjoys the outdoor side of the program.
